Message from the President
Welcome to Bruin Crypto Investment (BCI)!
My name is Yohan Hong. I am a second-year Statistics and Data Science student and am an aspiring individual Bitcoin trader.
I have been trading Bitcoin for three years. When I opened my first position in Bitcoin as a junior in high school, the overwhelming abundance of information, such as crypto YouTubers, Reddit discussions, Bloomberg articles, and Wall Street reports made it challenging for me to navigate, but I persevered. After a year-long process of trial and error, I reached out to Binance Leaderboard Top 100 traders who advised me on how to start. What did they ask me?
They asked, “What kind of a trader are you?” It was jarring at first because I did not have an answer. But I thought it over and asked myself, “What kind of a trader am I? What kind of a trader do I want to become?”
Looking inward did not unlock instant success, so I made up my mind to put a small stake in the market and experiment. From high-leverage altcoin trading to scalping, I tested various strategies until I found the one that works best for me: low-leverage Bitcoin trading (sub 3x leverage). As a conservative trader, I place my trades based on the liquidity level and smart money movements. Setting a set of personalized trading principles with strict risk management has allowed me to filter the market noise and consistently outperform the benchmark stock index, the S&P 500. At BCI, we help students do the same–develop an individualized trading approach that best reflects their perspectives and goals.
